It is an honor to announce, as we enter the Fast of the Virgin Mary, that Qadishapp's Light a Candle feature now has a new location: the Monastery of the Cross in Saydnaya, Syria.
For every virtual candle lit in the app, the monks at the monastery will light a physical candle. The text written with the candle will also be included in the prayer offered on your behalf when the physical candle is lit.
In addition, once a week, the seminarians at the Monastery of St. Aphrem (the Theological Seminary) in Ma'arat Saydnaya will gather all the virtual candles lit at the Monastery of the Cross in Saydnaya during that week and offer a communal prayer for them.
The Light a Candle feature will, of course, also continue to be available at the Monastery of the Cross in Ålberga, Sweden.
